Oviedo Florida, a special place to call home…

A few months ago members of the First Baptist Oviedo Church came to their Sunday morning services, to find things a little different than usual. When the collections plate was passed around, they found stacks of envelopes with the instructions “Please Take One”. Inside each of these envelopes was money in denominations of $ 10 to $ 100, with a note stating that this money couldn’t be given back to the church and couldn’t be kept for one’s self. This money was intended for the church members to pass out to someone in need within their community. Since then the stories of how each person has chosen to impact their community have been uploaded to the church’s website.

Coming up real soon is the 23rd annual Oviedo Winter Springs Chamber of Commerce charity golf tournament at the Tuscawilla Country Club. This event will be taking place on September 14th,2009 and is open to anyone interested in registering.
